Mr. Tommy Glover, 73 of Smyrna and formerly of Sand Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at his home.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Gann officiating. Burial followed in New Home Cemetery.
His wife, Hope Glover, stated, “It is with a heavy and broken heart that I share the news of my husband’s passing. He was a good, kind man and was battling Alzheimer’s disease over the past several years. Many didn’t know that his battle began long before the accident he had in 2022. Prior to the disease taking his music from him, he loved to play piano and guitar; he also loved to sing. He was a member of a couple gospel groups, the last and longest being, The Southmen. He went to Sylvania High and had many lifelong friends from the area. Tommy played music in his church for many years; he was a Southern Baptist and never wavered from his beliefs. He loved his kitty, Mandy, Manz kitty; she was his baby. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Tommy Glover.”
He is survived by his wife; nieces, Lisa Hartline, Annette Hess, Lynn Heavington; special cousin, Freddie Glover; former spouse, Leanna Colby; stepchildren, Richard Buck, Deanna Buck, Eddie Buck; friend, Kerry Gann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rubye Glover; sister, Phyllis Wharton.
