Ruby Ethelene Black Woodall, born on Sunday, January 27, 1929 to Oscar and Bessie Black, peacefully passed to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 11, 2023 with her children and grandchildren at her bedside. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Rudder Funeral home with Bro. Larry Lockard officiating. Burial followed in Prince Cemetery.

The third of five children, Ethelene graduated Jackson County High in 1947 and began teaching elementary school that fall. She transferred to teach at Skyline Elementary in 1948, while living in the teacherage during the week. She left teaching to raise a family after marrying Earl Woodall.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruby (Larry) Lockard; son, Ronny (Julia) Woodall; grandsons, Greg (Lenore) Lockard, Richard Lockard, Scott (Angie) Woodall, Steven (Mirae) Woodall; great0grandchildren, Collin Lockard, Conner Lockard, Colton Lockard, Adrian (Ashley) Woodall, Megan Woodall, Nuala Woodall, Thalia Woodall. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Willard; sister, Lynette Swinford; brothers, Mileage Black, H.B. Black, Clifford Black.
