Jackson County Bama Club sets date for annual Roll Tide BBQ

The Jackson County Chapter of the University of Alabama National Alumni Association has scheduled their annual Roll Tide BBQ for Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the Scottsboro-Goose Pond Civic Center.
The guest speaker for the event is Chris Stewart, voice of basketball for the University of Alabama. Stewart also serves as the broadcast host for CTSN’s radio coverage of Crimson Tide Football and as television host of The Nick Saban Show and The Nate Oats Show. He is in his 20th season as basketball play-by-play announcer for the Crimson Tide Sports Network, and he filled in for Eli Gold as play-by-play announcer for Crimson Tide football this past season as Gold recovered from health issues. Stewart is also the radio play-by-play announcer for Bama Baseball, having followed the Tide on the diamond since the 2000 season. On five occasions he has been named Alabama Sportscaster of the Year by the National Media Association.

The Jackson County Bama Club recently awarded over $62,000 in scholarships to 26 students from Scottsboro and Jackson County schools, including freshmen, transfer students and current students.
