Billy Clyde Thomas, 89 of Scottsboro, passed away at his home on Monday, May 15, 2023. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Scottsboro Funeral home with burial following in New Prospect Cemetery.

Billy grew up in Scottsboro, married and joined the United States Navy. After serving, he moved to Birmingham where he worked for American Olean Tile Company and Hayes Aircraft. In 1995, he retired and returned to Scottsboro. He was also a member of the Church of Christ and attended services with the Swearengin congregation. He enjoyed fishing, boating, shooting, any outdoor activity and yard work. He passed his time being of service to his neighbors. He was much loved in his community and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was the son of Cale and Bretha Thomas, had one brother, C.B. Thomas, Jr., deceased. He was married to Eunice Thomas for 70 years and was the father of two sons, Mark (Paula) Thomas and Mike Thomas. Pop was grandfather to Alaina Gutierrez, Caleb Thomas, Marin Thomas, Amelia Thomas and great-grandfather to Bennett Daniel and Penelope Gutierrez.
