Mr. Nolan Ray Byrd, 77 of Kennamer Cove, born on Tuesday, April 9, 1946, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his home. Funeral services were held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Grant Memorial Chapel with Rev. Rick Freeman officiating. Military honors burial followed in Free Home Cemetery.

Mr. Byrd was born in New Hope to Charlie and May Byrd and proudly served his country in the United States Army, later retiring from the National Guard as a recruiter.

He is survived by his son, Rodney (Tracy Jones); daughters, Marla (Tony) Sullivan, Carla Stiefel; grandchildren, Elizabeth Graham, Erin (Daniel) Gullion, Adriana (Sam) Sharples, Emily (Michael Upton) Byrd, Shawn Stiefel; great-grandchildren, Ava Graham, Cohen Gullion, Sybil Gullion; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Byrd; siblings, Kenneth Byrd, Doris Worth, Edna Wooten, Mildred Summers, Cecil Doran, Inez Glover, Arnold Doran, Eunice Allison; parents.
