Scott David Kennedy, 55 of Scottsboro, born on Tuesday, December 19, 1967, suddenly passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Ditto Landing from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Scott was a Scottsboro High Class of 1986 graduate and attended the University of North Alabama. He was an active member of his fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega and loved playing music. He began his music career there with the Love Yuppies, recruited to the Fiddleworms and then 5 o’clock Charlie. Scott never gave up on his dream of playing drums, and he played with his heart and soul every time he picked up those drumsticks. He was a kind and thoughtful soul who touched so many lives, living life to the fullest. He was born to be a drummer, and his family knows he is watching over them and playing his music in front of the biggest audience imaginable. His legacy will carry on forever, reminding us we control our own destinies. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and laughter. We will always love and miss you, until we can meet again.
He is survived by his father, David (Patricia) Kennedy; sister, Sarah (Kenneth) Precise; brother, Stuart Kennedy; nieces, Khloe Kennedy, Kadence Kennedy; stepdaughter, Autumn (Brad) Hiland; granddaughters, Kennedy Pritchett, Novella and Millie Hiland; aunt, Jennifer (John) Rance; uncle, Howard Tighe. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Tighe; uncle, Ronald Kennedy; grandmothers and grandfathers.
