Mrs. Izella Benson Proctor, 98 of Scottsboro, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Rudder Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Broome officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Izella was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary since they were established, volunteering to help with all projects to help veterans. She also loved volunteering at the nursing home where she cooked with her friend, Fran for the patients and visited with bedridden patients as well. She had a servant’s heart and was a truly genuine person. Izella will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Proctor; daughter-in-law, Becky Proctor; grandson, John Proctor; granddaughter, Rena (Bubba) Smith; great-grandchildren, Kathrynn Proctor, Brooklynne Proctor, Mason Smith; sister, Betty Godwin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Proctor; son, Larry Proctor; parents, Charlie and Ada Benson; brothers, Lee, Luther, Truman, Charlie, Jr.
