Master Gardeners offer scholarship

The Master Gardeners of Jackson County are offering a $1000 scholarship to a member of the high school graduating class of 2023 in Jackson County. The scholarship is for post high school education in an agricultural, environmental or science related fields such as Agriculture, Agricultural Business Education, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture Engineering, Agronomy, Botany, Environmental Science, Forestry, Horticulture, Irrigation, Landscape Design, Soil Science, Wildlife, etc. Program is open to students seeking a 4 year, 2 year or 18-24 month technical certification.

Application requirements are:
• Graduating High School Senior (open to home school students too)
• Jackson County Resident
• Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5
• Completed Master Gardener Scholarship Application and Questionnaire
• Two letters of recommendation

The deadline for submitting a scholarship application is March 4, 2023. Applications have been sent to county high school counselors and agriculture teachers. Applications can also be obtained by emailing jcmgascholarship@gmail.com.
