A ruling was made in the case of Jerry Hicks, Jr. on Friday, September 6, 2024, almost one year after the Stand Your Ground hearing that was held on October 12, 2023. Hicks was arrested and charged with the April 7, 2023 shooting death of Aaron Morris Nix at a local Scottsboro restaurant.
Section High School recently learned that it is one of 50 high schools across the country to receive $5,000 as part of T-Mobile’s “T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights”.
During last Tuesday’s Scottsboro municipal election, 2,678 voters voted. That is only 22.49 percent of Scottsboro’s 11,905 registered voters.

Do you think you can always tell if someone is being abused? It’s easier to see abuse if someone is yelling at their partner and threatening to harm them, or possibly throwing things across a room, pushing them into a wall while calling them belittling names. Those are all clear signs that abuse is happening. But what about the more subtle abusive behaviors? Often a victim struggles to identify the abuse, doubting their perceptions.
