Scottsboro Police Chief Ralph Dawe was recently honored at a Scottsboro City Council meeting in recognition of his 31 years of service to the community as a law enforcement officer. Dawe is nearing his retirement from the force, and his family had this to say in response to his long career.

In consideration of the new Health Order released by Governor Ivey and the State Health Officer, the Rec*Com will reopen beginning Wednesday, May 13, 2020. The only facilities available to the public at this time is the pool, walking track, and fitness room. The hours of operation will be Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., and Sunday 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Most heroes don’t appear until you need them. We don’t give them much thought until we’re in a crisis, and our gratitude often fades quickly as we get back to our normal lives.
