The Scottsboro Museum Commission is pleased to announce the completion of the 3000 square foot addition to the Scottsboro-Jackson Heritage Center.
Selena Necklaus is working towards earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. Her project will focus on flag education and proper flag disposal. Selena’s project has two different components: Development of a lesson plan focusing on flag care, proper flag folding and disposal which was taught at the Scottsboro City after-school program “Club Wildcat” with the outcome of kids being able to verbalize flag facts, and be able to demonstrate proper flag folding technique.
Huntsville Hospital Health System and the Jackson County Health Care Authority have jointly announced the completion of their due diligence process for the integration of their organizations.
Twenty-five years have passed since local artist, Sonya Clemons, The Art Lady, first began painting in homes and schools. Her specialty, in the beginning was murals, and since then, this has expanded to even include ornaments.
The Jackson County United Givers Fund kicks off this year’s fundraising campaign from September 13 – 26. Customers at Bruce’s Foodland’s three Jackson County locations will have an opportunity to help local charities by making a donation at a register. The proceeds will go to UGF to help support 13 Jackson County charities during the coming year.
