Easy like Sunday morning…
I’m sitting here this Sunday morning, and I’m ashamed to say my mind is more focused on my problems than my blessings. I know I’m not the only person that does this. The sun is shining, life is good, but here I sit – stressing over things I can’t control.
Can’t nobody do it like Momma did…
I had a customer pick up an order today, and we somehow got onto the subject of our favorite meal growing up. That one special plate that takes us back to our childhood – the one that only your momma could make. The one you try to try to replicate but just can’t.
The excuse bench…
You know when you have those moments in your life that just speak to you and stick with you? And you’re like, “Well, I will be, how true is that?” The excuse bench story is one of my big ones. I mean BIG.
This place we call home…
I have had the discussion quite a few times lately. If you’re from “around these parts” as I call it, you get it without question. If you “ain’t from around here,” sometimes it’s hard to understand. Stick around long enough, and you’ll see exactly what I mean.
Because if you look around, life is really beautiful…
Did you know that we eat with our eyes? It’s true. I have started a new job where I am preparing lunch plates for some folks. Whether its soup or a meal, I take great pains to make the plate visually appealing. I fan the crackers out around the soup bowl, sit the cornbread at just the right angle on the plate. They laugh at me, y’all, but I don’t care.
