Crisis intervention
As we promote our services, one thing we tell people we offer is crisis intervention. Someone may ask, what is crisis intervention? “Crisis intervention, either on the phone or face-to-face, attempts to deal quickly with an immediate problem.” Some refer to crisis intervention as a type of emotional first aid.
Feeling drained
Does everyday life seem to leave you feeling drained? The world tells us that we should be able to multi-task, get everything done without asking for help, and be excellent in everything. Being super busy seems like something to be proud of.
After a traumatic life event
How do you heal from traumatic life events? You start to wonder if it’s even possible or where to start. You wonder if you’ll ever be happy again. Most people are not strangers to trauma. Whether it is the death of a child, escaping a house fire, being sexually assaulted, having the one you love the most abuse you, or something else, many people have experienced trauma. After a trauma, we think it’s impossible that our life will ever be the same.

Mandy Hale once said, “Sometimes it takes a little pain and heartbreak to shake you awake, help you let go, and show you that you are worth so much more than you were settling for.” When I read that quote, I thought of so many people who stay in unhealthy relationships even though they know it’s not a good situation. What does it mean to “settle”?
