Mr. Blaylock was born in Mohegan, West Virginia on November 13, 1942. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served from 1960 until 1963 in Fort Hood, Texas. He then went to work for Tennessee Valley Authority for 38 years. He retired in 2001 but returned to work for TVA through BVI for seven more years. He loved to travel and had visited 48 of the 50 states. He loved watching college football and was a huge Crimson Tide fan. He was a kind hearted, soft spoken man who was loved by so many and always ensured his family knew how much they were loved by him.
Mr. Blaylock is survived by his wife, Barbara Jenkins Blaylock; daughter, Cheryl (Donald) Matthews; son, Greg Blaylock; granddaughter, Tanya (Lynn) Flood; great granddaughters, Chloe Flood and Bailey Flood; sister, Paulette (Jeff) Tramel; dear friend, Duane Smith; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Blaylock was preceded in death by his parents, Larrie and Ethel Garrett Blaylock; brothers, Carl “Buster” Blaylock, Billy Blaylock and Clay Blaylock; sisters, Mary Etta Blaylock, Evelyn Blaylock Morgan and Pauline Blaylock.
