Local businessman and Scottsboro City Council President, Tony Wallingsford announced the formation of his campaign committee as a Republican candidate for Jackson County Circuit Clerk in 2018.


“I’ve been in prayer with my family and seeking community input for the past few months and everyone has been very supportive.  Our clerk’s office has an excellent reputation and there is a great team in place.  This is a serious job that requires a serious candidate.”
Wallingford is the son of Bobby Troy and Faye Wallingsford. He is married to Tracy Holland Wallingsford who has been employed in the Scottsboro City School system for 23 years. He is a graduate of Scottsboro High School where he received an athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The two have two children, Butler and Riley Holland.  He and his family attend First United Methodist Church and serve in multiple leadership roles in church and civic organization.
Wallingsford holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance with a minor in computer science.  His resume includes management experience with companies including IBM and Apple Computer. Tony currently works in the hearing healthcare industry with clinics in Scottsboro, Huntsville, and Fort Payne.  Wallingsford was elected to Scottsboro City Council in 2014 and was appointed council president last year.
The statewide Primary election will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
