The Jackson County Commission voted on several items at their June 10th meeting:

•The motion to approve July 5th as an additional holiday was approved and passed.
•Four 2019 Ford F-250 4wd crew cabs for the Sanitation Department were approved for bids. Moving forward, the Commission will be presented with bids, and the final choice will be taken from those.
•The employee responsible for the cleaning for the Parks Department left a vacancy, and the commission approved a three-month trial period with a new employee. The Commission also approved the term of employment for the Parks Department temporary worker to be extended until July 21st.
•The motion to approve the surplus of a bus for Council on Aging (COA) Asset #288 was approved and passed.
•The extension presented by County Engineer Jonathan Campbell for the Northern Heights Subdivision and Briarcliff/Clifftop Road in the Swearengin community was approved and passed.
•The two motions to approve the creation of a Clerk II position with a job description and organizational chart changes for the Sanitation Department were approved and passed, as well.
•A motion to sign a proclamation in recognition of the Jackson County Amateur Radio Club was approved and passed.
