A long-time search of information, including the digital collections of Northeast Alabama Community College, was instrumental in two Vietnam veterans reuniting. This is their story.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. According to the National Women’s Health Network (NWHN),
“Ovarian cancer accounts for more deaths each year than any other cancer of the female reproductive system. In 2013 alone, there were an estimated 22,000 cases of ovarian cancer resulting in about 14,000 deaths. These shocking statistics make it clear that ovarian cancer awareness is of utmost importance.”

Jackson County’s oldest surviving WWII veteran, attorney Jack Livingston, was honored by the volunteers manning the WWII , USS LST-325 Landing Ship Tank as it passed through Guntersville and Goose Pond on its way to Chattanooga on August 20, 2019.
