Donald Patrick “Pat” Riggs, 57 of Madison passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

A celebration of Pat’s life was held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 in Madison where he was laid to rest.
Pat had long and distinguished careers in both the Unites States Air Force and various law enforcement agencies. Pat began his law enforcement career at the California Department of Corrections where he served as a Corrections Officer for 10 years and moved to Las Vegas where he joined the North Las Vegas Police Department as a Detention Officer. After 10 years with NLVPD, he and his wife decided to relocate to Alabama where Pat joined the Madison County Sheriff Department as a Corrections Officer. Pat ended his career with the Madison Police Department as an Animal Control Officer.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen R. Riggs; sons, Connor (Ashley) Riggs, Michael (Amanda) Stallings, Daniel Stallings, Tanner Riggs; daughters, Emily (Mike) Daileda, Tesanee Riggs; grandchildren, Bentley, Carter, Kenlynn, Raelynn and Saige; mother, Linda Shurtliffe Riggs; brother, Gary (Ginia) Riggs, nieces Aimee Riggs, Hannah Anderson; nephew, Corey Riggs; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Joyce) Cook; nephews, Josh Cook and Alex (Hillary) Cook; aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Pat is preceded in death by his father, Billy Wayne Riggs; brother, Michael Wayne Riggs.
If you wish to celebrate Pat’s life with a remembrance, the family requests donations be made to: Madison Police Foundation, 100 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758; 501c3 organization with donations earmarked for animal control.
