Mrs. Alta Marguerite “Maggie” Pearson Scott, 82 of Scottsboro passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in Scottsboro.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on July 19th at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Jody Gamble officiating.
Maggie was born on September 11, 1937 to Flora Juanita Dawn and Jack Paul Pearson in Monet, Mo. She was a feisty and strong woman. She was a lover of the arts and had a lovely singing voice and sang professionally. Her skills on the piano were like no other, and she could play any music set before her. She was immensely talented in crocheting and before anything else, sewing. She made custom fashions for entertainers, as well as her family’s wardrobe. She was a skilled legal secretary and an avid reader. She always liked to she was the smartest person in the room. She had a green thumb and found her peace in nature. She was a dog person and would happily share pictures and stories of her dogs with anyone who would listen. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life, and her most valued times were spent with them.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her son, Patrick (Judy) Scott; daughters, Jacqueline Royal, Elizabeth (Jim) Scott-Erpelding; granddaughters, Lindsey Scott, Marianna Royal; grandsons, Matt Wehner, Brad Wehner, Brian Wehner, John Scott, Preston Scott, Payton Scott, Cullen Yeater, Miles Royal, Mason Royal; seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Flora Dawn and Jack Pearson; son, Michael Scott; grandson, Patrick Scott.
