Have a last-minute gathering at your house? Not enough notice to order a centerpiece? Nothing is quite like the feeling of panic! What are you going to do when it comes to setting your table? How are you going to take boring to beautiful? How will you find the time? With some great go to pieces from your house you can transform your table in no time all.

Just remember three Ls for table scaping; Layers, Leaves and Lighting.
Start with your layers. Do you have a great runner or tablecloth to start with? It will set the tone for your table from color to casual. Great trays or serving boards are perfect to build height or protect your linens from plants and candles. Get creative and mix it up. Don’t be afraid.
Then add your leaves. They can come from the store or be cut from the yard. Just add them into the appropriate containers and pop color throughout your table. Sometimes you don’t have a lot of foliage. Try adding a small clipping to your napkin rings. For example, a cut a few leaves from an ivy bush or short pieces from cypress/cedar trees at Christmas. Little details can make a big difference.
Now set your candles, and you should have a table that is the center of attention. Just work with what you have and remember my three Ls for table scaping, and you will be fine.
Last, just add potted orchids and green moss to an antique mixing bowl.
