            Mr. Michael Dooley, managing partner and chief engineer of Phoenix Energy of Nevada,LLC (PENV), says, “There are other better, less expensive, safer, less toxic waste polluting, cleaner and more financially viable options for the expansion, build out / build up, completion and use of the TVA Bellefonte Site than to try to complete this Property Site as a 2019 state of the art design and codes compliant nuclear powered electric power generation plant facility.”

During last week’s Republican Primary Run-off for Jackson County Circuit Clerk, Bart Buchanan, with 2,929 votes, defeated Keshia Gardner, who received 2,300 votes.

The candidates eliminated Kyle Shelton and Tony Wallingsford in the June Primary. During the Primary, Buchanan received 2,827 votes and Gardner received 2,693 votes.  Buchanan will be sworn in as Jackson County Circuit Clerk in January, 2019.
For Jackson County Commission District 1, Danny Rich, with 2,750 votes, defeated Chris Gulley with 2,230 votes. During the Primary the candidates eliminated Clinton Hill and Timothy Hinkle. Gulley received 2,563 votes and Rich received 2,542 votes during that race.
In the November 6 General Election, Rich will face Jack Smith; Tim Guffey and Sadie Bias will face off for Jackson County Commission Chairman; Jason Venable will face Jack Allen for Jackson County Commission District 2; Mike Matthews will face Kenneth Storey for Jackson County Board of Education District 1;  and Chuck Phillips will face George Lewis for Jackson County Sheriff.
