The Jackson County United Givers Fund  annual t-shirt event is now underway. 

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of United Givers’ service to Jackson County, in addition to marking the 16th UGF T-shirt project. The shirts are yellow and are available for $12.  Shirts may be pre ordered at the Impact Learning Center. Order forms can be downloaded at www.unitedgivers.org.   Thirty restaurants, some new participants, are offering the usual free drink with food purchase every Friday in September, and 14 of the 30 are extending the offer to every day in September.  
Local restaurants participating in T-Shirt Friday this year include  Arby’s, Cloud’s Pizza, Copper Top Restaurant, Cumberland Mountain Outdoors, Cups Cafe, Downtown Dogs, 50 Taters, Friday’s, Gail’s Diner, K.C.’s BBQ, Mud Creek BBQ, Subway, Tokyo Japan, The Docks, Western Sizzlin, West Side Grocery. The follow will participate every day in September, Captain D’s, Carlile’s, Hardee’s of Bridgeport, Holy Smokes BBQ, Kimber’s Korner, Kudzu Cafe, Liberty, Marco’s Pizza, McCutchen’s Magnolia House, Payne’s Soda Fountain, Pikeville Store and Grill, Stevarino’s, Walden’s and Zaxby’s.
United Givers Fund supports the American Red Cross, The Arc, Boys and Girls Club, CASA, Christmas Charities, Community Action, Crisis Services, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Impact Learning Center, 4-H, Northeast Alabama Health Services and Stevenson Friends of the Library.
Ellie Smith, UGF member suggests each local business and group of friends purchase the shirts and make a weekly lunch date out of the event.
