The Clarion Newspaper and the Scottsboro Civitan Club have joined together to host “Candidates for a Cause.”

The political forum, cake auction and bake sale will feature candidates in the upcoming election. During the event, citizens are invited to hear from candidates.  
Candidates from the following races plan to attend include: United States Senate; Alabama Senate; Alabama Attorney General; Commissioner of Agriculture and Industry; Alabama Supreme Court; Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals; Alabama House of Representatives District 22; Alabama House of Representatives District 23; Jackson County Circuit Clerk; Jackson County Sheriff; Jackson County Commission Chairman; Jackson County Commission District 1; Jackson County Commission District 2; Jackson County Probate Judge; Jackson County Board of Education. Many baked goods and cakes will also be available during the live auction.
All proceeds will benefit the Jackson County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, a chapter of Crisis Services of North Alabama. Jackson County Coalition Against Domestic Violence (JCCADV) is a group dedicated to raising awareness in our community regarding domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault. JCCADV meets monthly in an effort to meet needs of victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through community awareness projects and fundraising. Coalition members include healthcare workers, law enforcement, attorneys, concerned private citizens, and staff members of Crisis Services of North Alabama.
The event will be held Tuesday, April 17 at the Scottsboro High School Lunchroom (Wildcat Grill) beginning at 5:30 p.m.
