Pinehaven Memorial Gardens and the Arc of Jackson County invite you to a special luminary service on April 14 at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.

Between 800 and 1000 candles will be placed throughout the gardens and at all entrances. The entire garden will be completely illuminated. These candles will be lit at dusk and the devotional service will begin at 7 p.m.  All are invited to witness this beautiful transformation of the Memorial Gardens.
In addition to candles being placed all over the gardens, a candle may be placed on a loved one’s grave for a donation. All donations will go to the Arc of Jackson County.
Arc board member Ron Crawford says that while the proceeds from this event are given to the Arc, the event is a way to give back to the community. No donation is too large or too small. The Arc’s primary goal is to provide quality training, habilitation, and other services for adults with cognitive, intellectual, and other developmental disabilities. Services provided on site at The Arc of Jackson County include a Senior’s program for those for those 55+. This includes lunch at the Jackson County Nutrition Center twice a week and volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels once a week in addition to age appropriate activities on site. Areas of training provided on site are hygiene, social skills, health improvement through various exercise opportunities, money management, domestic skills, and employment readiness skills. Programs that are operated in the community are a community inclusion and volunteer program. The community inclusion program allows individuals to go to different places in the community in groups of 3 or less. Volunteer work is done by individuals at various places in the community
Anyone wishing to make a donation may call the Arc at 256-259-1603 or Pinehaven at 256-574-4163.
In the event of bad weather, the event will be postponed to April 21.
