            Mr. Michael Dooley, managing partner and chief engineer of Phoenix Energy of Nevada,LLC (PENV), says, “There are other better, less expensive, safer, less toxic waste polluting, cleaner and more financially viable options for the expansion, build out / build up, completion and use of the TVA Bellefonte Site than to try to complete this Property Site as a 2019 state of the art design and codes compliant nuclear powered electric power generation plant facility.”

The 2018 Chili Challenge, a fund raiser for the Habitat for Humanity of Jackson County will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018.


Tickets are available at First Southern State Bank, First Jackson Bank and the Greater Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. Advance tickets are $6 each and at the door, tickets will be $7 each. Kids 6 and under are admitted free.
The admission price will include your eligibility for a cash giveaway, a chili hotdog lunch (between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.), live entertainment, a silent auction, country store and bake sale. Ticket holders will also have the opportunity to sample the challengers’ chili and vote for their favorite.
The Chili Challenge will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Goose Pond Civic Center.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Jackson County. HFH of Jackson County is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
