The Scottsboro-Jackson Heritage Center has announced the dates for their annual Christmas Open House as well as Santa at the Center for this year.

The public is cordially invited to attend the Christmas Open House festivities on Sunday afternoon, December 3 from 2:00-5:00 p.m.  Everyone is encouraged to come see the beautiful decorations provided by the Scottsboro Garden Club and enjoy delicious refreshments provided by members of the Museum Board and entertainment provided by local talent.  This year’s theme is “An Old Fashion Christmas.”  The members of the Scottsboro Garden Club generously share their decorating skills each year by transforming the Heritage Center into a beautiful holiday venue.  Those who attend will find many wonderful ideas for decorating and will experience a truly warm welcome to kick off the Holiday Season.  The Annual Open House is free to the public and is a way for the Heritage Center to express their appreciation to the community for their generous support.
On Sunday, December 10 from 1:00-3:00 p.m., the Heritage Center will host “Santa at the Center” for children in the community.   Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa and have a free picture made with Santa.  Parents and grandparents accompanying children will also have an opportunity to view the decorations.  Refreshments will be served.  This is a free event for the children in the community.
According to Susan Fisher, president of the Museum board, “The Annual Christmas Open House is a wonderful opportunity to visit with friends while enjoying good food and wonderful entertainment in a beautiful setting.  We encourage Heritage Center patrons and other members of the community to stop by and share this special time with us on Sunday, December 3rd.  We have changed from our previous years’ evening venue to a Sunday afternoon venue so that those in the community who do not drive after dark will have an opportunity to attend and hopefully, those who are out on Sunday afternoon after church services will also take advantage of the change.  We are also anticipating lots of children to visit with Santa on Sunday, December 10th.  Both of these functions are free to the public and we hope members of the community will join us in celebrating the Holiday Season.”
