A new event is being planned on August 31, 2019 to benefit a new Habitat homeowner and her two sons. The local chapter of Jackson County Habitat for Humanity is throwing a party to help raise money to get her home completed and get this family settled in their new home.

“We have held the Chili Challenge for the last several years in February,” said President of the Board, Tony Grantham. “We think it’s time for an event that is held during the summer months, when people are getting out and enjoying Labor Day Weekend.”
The event will be held at Warehouse 207, an events center right off the square in beautiful downtown Scottsboro.
“We’ll have some BBQ plates for $10.00 that you can enjoy there with great live music and a silent auction, or you can pick up your meals and take them home to share with your family. We will also have our very popular Country Store for folks that enjoy flea market finds.
The silent auction will have something for everyone in the family. We have trips, many great home items, services, tools and toys donated by local businesses and individual supporters of Habitat. Some of the finest cooks in town have donated beautiful cakes and cookies that you can bid on and take home for that Labor Day picnic.”
