            Mr. Michael Dooley, managing partner and chief engineer of Phoenix Energy of Nevada,LLC (PENV), says, “There are other better, less expensive, safer, less toxic waste polluting, cleaner and more financially viable options for the expansion, build out / build up, completion and use of the TVA Bellefonte Site than to try to complete this Property Site as a 2019 state of the art design and codes compliant nuclear powered electric power generation plant facility.”

Scottsboro Woman’s League will hold its 5th Annual Mistletoe Market November 16-18.

Mistletoe Market is an upscale Christmas Market held at Goose Pond Civic Center with 30 vendors from all across the Southeast. Last year the group welcomed nearly 1,000 visitors.
All funds raised by Mistletoe Market and other fund-raisers held by the Woman’s League are donated to the following organizations: Scottsboro Education Foundation, Impact Learning Center, Jackson County Christmas Charities, Habitat for Humanity of Jackson County, Mountain Lakes Behavioral Center, The ARC of Jackson County, Turning Point Pregnancy Center, Celebrate Recovery, Crisis Services - Domestic Violence Coalition, Downtown Scottsboro, DHR of Jackson County, Local scholarships, Scottsboro Public Library Summer Program, Scottsboro Life Resource Services, Room at the Inn and Nourish One Child.
Mistletoe Market will be open Friday, Nov. 16 from 5 until 8:30 p.m.; Saturday Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18 from 1 until 5 p.m.
Tickets for Friday night will be $10 and will be pre-sold online, at Grapevine Gifts and Home Décor, and from any SWL member. Friday night is a stroller-free night and refreshments will be served. You can also buy a weekend pass for $15 which will allow you access to the Market all three days and will include a picture with Santa. Regular Market hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for Saturday and Sunday will be sold at the door, $5 each. Kids 10 and under will receive free admission with the purchase of a Santa picture for $10.
